How do I find the product(s) I'm looking for?
Shopping at Domestications online is easier than ever before! We've organized
our products into sub-departments so you can go directly to the types of
products you're interested in without having to dig through page after page of
items that might not be as interesting to you. So if you're in the mood to
browse by style or product type, you can shop by department and jump between
different styles within each department with just one click! For example, if
you're in the Bedroom department, and you're browsing Traditional bedding
ensembles in Decorative Bedding, you can pop over to view Blankets in our Warm
and Cozy sub-department by selecting Blankets in the Warm and Cozy pull-down
menu.
To help you surf faster, we now present the items to you in a text list first,
with 10 items shown per page. When more than 10 products are available in your
chosen style, you can browse each page in sequence, or jump between pages by
clicking on the corresponding number for each page. For example, in departments
with 30 or more items available, you can go from page one to page three with
just one click! At any time while you're browsing, you can choose to view the
list as images rather than as text, and you can switch back to the text list at
any time as well.

Searching for a Specific Product by Keyword
If you're searching for a specific product, just type your search words in the
search box, which you'll find at the top of every page on our site, and click
on "Go". If you're searching on more than one word, and the two words
are frequently used as a phrase, type your search terms in quotes for better
results. For example, you can search for "flannel sheets" or
"mattress pad". If searching a plural term doesn't yield satisfactory
results, try using the singular version ("mattress pad" instead of
"mattress pads"). In some cases, a single word works better, such as
"silk" (you won't need quotes if only typing one word).

Searching for a Specific Product by Item Number
If you have our
print catalog, you can also search by item number! Just type the item
number into the search field at the top of the site and click on
"Go". If the item isn't found, you can also try searching just the
numeric part of the item number, without the first letter (i.e, 337337 instead
of G337337). If you still don't find the item you're looking for, it may be
temporarily unavailable, but you can place an order online and reserve it for
immediate shipment when we replenish our inventory. Just go to our
place catalog order page and type the requested information into the
appropriate boxes, and click on "add to cart". Then continue shopping
until you are ready to check out. If the item will not be available, we will
notify you via email if you've provided an email address when checking out, or
by postal mail if you have not given us your email address.

Can I order bedding products and coordinating accessories at
the same time?
Yes, you can! We know that most people shop for bedding by size, so we've
rearranged our site so you can easily purchase all items in your chosen pattern
by size. When you click on twin, full, queen, etc. on the product information
page, you'll be presented with a list of all items available in that size, plus
all the accessories. Just click your cursor in the check box for each item
you'd like to purchase; select the color, style or pattern if applicable; and
click on "add to cart".

Can I order online from my catalog?
If you've received our
catalog and have your item numbers available, you can go to our
place catalog order page to place your order in a jiffy. Type the
requested information into the appropriate boxes, and click on "add to
cart". Then continue shopping until you are ready to check out.

I saw a product in your catalog but don't see it on your Web
site. Can I still order it?
Yes, you can. Simply follow the instructions noted above. If the item will not
be available, we will notify you via email if you've provided an email address
when checking out, or by postal mail if you have not given us your email
address.

How do I know if a product I see on your site is in stock?
We try to keep our site as current as possible, so you can shop with confidence
that items you're interested in on our site are available. Sometimes, we
experience heavier than expected demand and an item becomes unavailable before
we are able to temporarily remove it from the site. If an item you've ordered
becomes unavailable, we will notify you via postal mail. If you are concerned
about availability on a specific item, call us at 1-800-826-8240 (please have
your item number handy) or email us at
custserv@domestications.com. When sending an email inquiry, be sure to
include the item number, description, and the quantity you'd like to purchase.

Do I have to pay sales tax?
For phone, mail, fax or Internet orders, we are required to collect sales tax

Doesn't the Internet Tax Freedom Act say that I don't
have to pay sales tax when shopping online?
The Internet Tax Freedom Act prevents states from imposing any new taxes on
Internet transactions. States in which we conduct business (in our corporate
offices, fulfillment centers, etc.) in the "real" world require us to collect
sales tax under their pre-existing sales tax laws.

How do I complete a purchase online?
When you're ready to complete your purchase, you can proceed to the shipping
and billing information pages by clicking on "Checkout" while in your
shopping cart or by clicking on "Checkout" at the top of any page on
our site. The shipping charges and total order amount will be posted when you
reach the checkout page. Simply enter the shipping address and click on
"continue" to proceed.
Enter your credit card information
and your billing address, and check the appropriate boxes if you'd like to
receive an email confirmation of your order (this will already be checked),
request installment billing,
or (if you have the Domestications® credit card, you can request deferred
billing), sign up for our
newsletter
, or notify us of your privacy preferences.
Check your information carefully, and then click on "Checkout" to
complete your purchase. You'll receive your order number on the confirmation
page; be sure to write this number down for future reference in the event you
have a question about your order. If you have requested an order confirmation
via email and have provided us with a valid email address, you will also
receive an order confirmation via email.

Is shopping online at Domestications.com secure?
In a word, yes. We use SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology to ensure our
site's security. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be
guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your
personal information, Domestications® cannot ensure or warrant the
security of any information you transmit to us or from our online products or
services, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we
make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems. When your credit
card information is transmitted to Domestications® we use industry
standard, SSL (secure socket layer) encryption to ensure the security of your
information. We also have appropriate security measures in place in our
physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of
information that we have collected from you at Domestications® Regardless
of the foregoing, due to the open nature of the internet, we do not guarantee
the absence of theft, hacker activity, electronic or non-electronic tampering,
or computer crime, and we disclaim responsibility and liability for stolen
information, except to the extent of the following commitment we make to you.
We are so confident in the security of our website that we guarantee the safety
of your personal information when you use your credit card to place an order on
our secure site. If you find unauthorized charges on your credit card as a
result of shopping on www.domestications.com, you won't pay a penny. Here's how
it works:
Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, your bank cannot hold you liable for any
fraudulent charges in excess of $50.00. If your bank does charge you the $50.00
fee, and the unauthorized charges resulted through no fault of your own from
purchases made at www.domestications.com, we will reimburse you the full amount
of the liability, up to $50.00. You must first notify your credit card provider
in the manner required by the provider if you believe unauthorized charges have
appeared on your account.

Can I order online without a credit card?
We can only accept online orders placed with a credit card.
We understand that not everyone is comfortable ordering online with a credit
card, but rest assured that we take great pains to create a secure environment
for our Web shoppers! You can confidently use your credit card to place your
order with us online. Read below for details.

Can I phone, fax, email or mail in my order?
No matter how you like to shop, placing your order with Domestications is easy!
Although we use a secure server to protect your personal information, we
understand that not every customer is comfortable using a credit card online.
You can also order by phone, or if you have a
catalog, you can mail or fax your order to us. In the near future, you
will be able to order online without a credit card (you'll just need to mail us
your check or money order!). Stay tuned.

1-800-826-8240. You'll need to have your item numbers handy. For easiest
ordering, add the items you're interested in to your shopping cart so
everything you'd like to purchase is organized when you make the call!

for any other purpose).
IMPORTANT NOTE ON ORDERING VIA EMAIL:
Please do not submit your order or any personal information, especially credit
card information, via email. Email is not secure and your data can be exposed
or intercepted rather easily. For this reason we do not accept orders via email

If you have our print catalog and prefer to order by mail, simply fill out the
order form and send it to us at the address printed on the order envelope.

Can I save my shopping cart if I'm not ready to check out?
If your browser is set to accept cookies, your shopping cart will be saved
automatically if you leave our site without completing a purchase (or if your
browser or computer crashes). To retrieve your saved items, access our Web site
from the same computer you used when you added the items to your cart, and
click on the shopping cart link in
the top left area of any page on our site. You can read more about cookies

What are cookies? What do they do?
Cookies are small bits of data that are sent by Web sites to your computer.
They are usually stored on your hard drive in a text file (often called
cookies.txt. All cookies that have been sent to your computer will be stored in

How do I set my browser to accept cookies?

accepting a cookie, or to never accept cookies. If you plan to shop online a
lot, you may want to set the browser to always accept cookies. Some sites use
quite a few cookies so they can remember your preferences and offer customized
content. As you surf their sites, you will be asked to accept cookies

Go to the "View" menu at the top of the browser window and click on
"Internet Options". Then click on "Advanced" and scroll
down the list to Cookies. To accept cookies, set your browser to "Prompt

If your browser is Netscape or Netscape Communicator...
Go to the "Edit" menu at the top of the browser window and click on
"Preferences". Click on the word "Advanced" (not the +

"Warn me before accepting a cookie". After you change the setting,
click OK to save it.
