About E-Gift Cards

Q: What is an E-Gift Card?
A: The Domestications E-Gift Card (“E” signifying electronic) works the same way as the plastic version but it is sent electronically to an e-mail address that the sender specifies when placing the order.

Q: Where can I purchase an E-Gift Card?
A: The Domestications E-Gift Card can be purchased online and by catalog at 1-800-826-8240.

Q: Can I purchase an E-Gift Card if I live outside of the United States?
A: Our E-Gift Cards are sold only in United States currency at this time. If the gift purchaser’s home currency is not U.S. dollars, the order for E-Gift Cards must be placed by telephone only, call 1-800-826-8240. If the gift recipient’s home currency is other than U.S. dollars, any balance due on an order must be paid in U.S. Dollars with another payment method. Thereafter any returns made of items purchased with our E-Gift Cards will be credited in U.S. dollars in the same form of Card or payment originally submitted.

Q: Is there a limit to the number of E-Gift Cards I can purchase at one time?
A: There is no limit to the number of E-Gift Cards you can purchase.

Q: Where are E-Gift Cards accepted?
A: Domestications’ E-Gift Card can be used for online, catalog and outlet store purchases.

Q: Do Domestications E-Gift Cards expire?
A: Our E-Gift Cards are like cash; there is no expiration date.

Q: Can I reload my E-Gift Card?
A: E-Gift Cards cannot be reloaded.

Q: Can I use a coupon to purchase a Domestications E-Gift Card?
A: No. Promotional discounts including Private Label Credit Card and Buyer’s Club discounts cannot be used towards the purchase of an E-Gift Card.

Q: Can I pay my Domestications credit card balance with my E-Gift Card?
A: No. E-Gift Cards cannot be used as payment toward a balance on your Domestications credit card.

Q: Can I redeem an E-Gift Card for cash?
A: No. E-Gift Cards are treated as a merchandise credit and can only be used towards the purchase of products or services from our website, catalog or outlet store.

Q: Can I use my Domestications Credit Card to buy an E-Gift Card from Domestications?
A: Yes.

Q: Can I use a Domestications E-Gift Card to purchase another Domestications E-Gift Card?
A: Yes.

Q: Can I purchase an E-Gift Card with a Domestications paper gift certificate?
A: Yes

Q: How do I check the balance of my E-Gift Card?
A: You can check your card balance online here or by calling 1-800-344-9743. You will be asked to provide your E-Gift Card number through either method.

Q: Can I replace a lost or stolen E-Gift Card?
A: Domestications is not responsible for lost or stolen E-Gift Cards, or if your E-Gift Card is used without your permission.

Q: How long does it take for the recipient to receive their E-Gift Card?
A: Sent to a valid e-mail address, the recipient should receive their E-Gift Card within a few hours of the order being placed.

Q: How is the E-Gift Card recipient notified?
A: The recipient will get an e-mail alerting them of their gift. The e-mail will also include information on how to retrieve and use the E-Gift Card.

Q: How will I know if an E-Gift Card that I purchased is picked up by the recipient?
A: You will receive an e-mail from Domestications confirming the E-Gift Card has been picked up by the recipient. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail, and the recipient has verified that they did not receive their E-Gift Card, please contact Customer Service at 1-800-826-8240.

Q: What if my recipient never got the E-Gift Card or the e-mail was deleted?
A: If your recipient did not receive their E-Gift Card, or accidentally deleted it, please call 1-800-826-8240.

Q: What if the recipient got the E-Gift Card but cannot open or print it?
A: If the E-Gift Card cannot be opened or printed, please contact Customer Service at 1-800-826-8240 for assistance.

Q: What if my E-Gift Card was delivered to the wrong e-mail address?
A: It is the responsibility of the sender to provide the correct e-mail address of the recipient. Domestications is not responsible for E-Gift Cards sent to a valid but incorrect e-mail address. To ensure delivery to the correct recipient, we recommend you verify the recipient’s e-mail address prior to placing your order.

Shopping with an E-Gift Card

Q: How do I use my Domestications E-Gift Card for payment online?
A: To redeem online, shop at domestications.com and then proceed to checkout. At the “Payment” page, enter the 19 digit E-Gift Card number and the 4-digit PIN number on your E-Gift Card. You will also need to provide a credit card to complete your order. Your Gift Card will always be debited first. Your credit card will only be charged if the order total exceeds the amount on your E-Gift Card.

Q: If my E-Gift Card has more than enough funds to pay for my purchase, why must I also provide a credit card to complete my order?
A: Because we will continue to accept our old paper gift certificates which require a credit card, at this time our system must handle E-Gift Card transactions the same way. If you do not wish to provide a credit card, you may place your order by calling 1-800-826-8240.

Q: How do I use my Domestications E-Gift Card for payment on catalog and outlet store purchases?
A: To use your E-Gift Card for catalog orders, just read the 19 digit E-Gift Card number and the 4-digit PIN number to the Customer Service representative. To redeem at a Domestications outlet location, just bring in your printed E-Gift Card and present it at time of purchase.

Q: Can I use multiple E-Gift Cards as payment?
A: Yes. You may use up to three E-Gift Cards on a purchase.

Q: What if I have an unredeemed old paper Gift Certificate from Domestications. Can I still use it?
A: Yes. You may still redeem our paper Gift Certificates online and for catalog orders. However, the older-format Gift Certificates are not redeemable at any of our outlet stores. To use your paper Gift Certificate online, just enter the nine digit certificate number on the payment page. To use for a catalog order, just read your certificate’s number to the Customer Service representative.

Q: What if the cost of my order exceeds the amount of my E-Gift Card or gift certificate?
A: If the gift(s) you are redeeming do not cover the entire amount of your order, you will be asked to provide a credit card for the balance of the payment.

Q: What happens if my order is less than the value of my E-Gift Card?
A: If your order is less than the value of your E-Gift Card, the balance will remain on the E-Gift Card for future purchases.

Q: Should I dispose of my Gift Card or E-Gift Card once I’ve spent its entire value?
A: No. Please do not dispose of your E-Gift Card until you are completely satisfied with your purchase.

Returns purchased with an E-Gift Card

Q: What happens if I am returning merchandise purchased with an E-Gift Card?
A: If you are returning merchandise purchased with an E-Gift Card, the amount of the merchandise credit will be placed on a new E-Gift Card.

Q: If I return an item purchased with an E-Gift Card, can you credit my credit card instead?
A: No. All returns are credited in the original form of payment.

Q: How will I receive my refund if my purchase was made with an E-Gift Card and credit card?
A: If you purchased an item using your E-Gift Card and credit card together, the amount you paid with your E-Gift Card will be put back onto an E-Gift Card. Any additional monies paid by a credit card will be refunded to your credit card.
